Romee is a certified 500 hours Ayurvedic Yoga teacher with the Kripalu School of Yoga and a certified 650 hours Ayurvedic consultant with the Kripalu School of Ayurveda from Massachusetts and registered with NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association) as an Ayurvedic Practitioner.
She brings over 25 years of experience, study and practice to bring health and fitness into her community and to you.
Romee grew up in Germany and earned her degree in Exercise Science from the Technical University in Munich, (Bode Schule) in Germany. She went on to the California, Heartwood College and earned her certifications in Zen Shiatsu and Oriental massage and she completed training in Thai Yoga body work.
Romee had moved to Washington State in the early 90's where she earned her certifications as group fitness instructor and certified personal trainer with ACE (American Council on Exercise) and was teaching dance group fitness classes and Yoga at Washington State University.
She practiced Yoga and completed the Yoga teacher training offered at the Moscow Yoga Center in Idaho in 1998. Some of Romee's continuing education teachers include Dr. Vasant Lad of the Ayurvedic Institute, Yoganand Michael Carrol, Larissa Hall Carlson, Baron Baptiste, David Swenson, Beryl Bender Birch, Ana Forrest, Shiva Rae, Patricia Walden, Gabriel Halpern, Philip Urso, Megha and others.
In 2016 she completed 2 workshops in foot reflexology with Wendy Decker in Bath Maine. And she completed the Ayurvedic Head, Face, Hands and Foot massage, Full Body Ayurvedic massage and Thai Yoga Foot Massage at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Massachusetts.
In 2018 she added another training as a "LET YOUR YOGA DANCE" instructor at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health with Megha Nancy Buttenheim, M.A.
Romee also works as an assistant for Ayurvedic Bodywork trainings at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health.
In 2001 Romee had moved to Boothbay Harbor, Maine where she teaches Yoga and "Let Your Yoga Dance" classes, gives Ayurvedic consultations and Body Work sessions and teaches Ayurvedic workshops. She founded and operated the Yoga Firm Studio from 2003 to 2017 and brought Yoga to the Boothbay community.
She brings skill, experience and a deep understanding of the body's anatomy and physiology to her students and clients. Her warm and passionate approach provides a nurturing environment to guide her students into self empowerment and vibrant health.
Romee weaves Yoga and Ayurveda into her daily life by drawing inspiration from nature. She loves the outdoors and hiking, swimming in the ocean, cooking wholesome foods, reading and relaxing with her cat and hanging out with her friends.
